This morning, suspects in at least three cars attacked a cash-in-transit van in Chamdor, Krugersdorp.
The vehicle was targeted with an explosive device, which gained the suspects access to the cash.
Whilst they made off with an undisclosed amount of money, they did leave behind notes strewn across Kagiso Drive, as well as a burning Mercedes-Benz.
South African anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee shared these two videos, showing the initial attack on the CIT vehicle, and then the explosion:

The suspects escaped in a white BMW 330, a white Audi A4, and a white BMW X5, according to armed response company Suburban Control Centre.
They posted this video to Facebook, showing the carnage left behind:
The money strewn across the road soon attracted a crowd, and EWN reports that police on the scene “condemned community members who took the stolen money for themselves”, adding that they, too, could face criminal charges:
