The day that lockdown is supposed to end is creeping closer, and the country wants to know what’s going on.

Various stakeholders both within government and the public sector are currently preparing models that attempt to predict the rate of the coronavirus infection, and whether cases of infection will rise if the lockdown is lifted.
This, along with considerations regarding the economy and sustainability of an indefinite lockdown, will help President Cyril Ramaphosa to make an informed decision that will work in the best interests of all South Africans.
