Like most industries, the music industry has taken a massive knock since the coronavirus went global.
The rich and famous are clearly not immune to the COVID-19 virus and many top musicians find themselves stuck in self-quarantine.
Italian citizens in quarantine have shown the world the power that music can have in a time like this and now many of the world’s top musicians are entertaining the masses via online ‘corona concerts’, reports Sky News.
Chris Martin of Coldplay gave fans an intimate show from his home and even allowed viewers to request their favourite numbers:
Martin challenged fellow musician and friend, John Legend to share his own performance.
Legend accepted the challenge and announced that he would also be holding an impromptu show:
“My friend Chris Martin did a lovely little concert from home today. I’ll be doing one tomorrow at 1pm Pacific time. See you soon. We’ll try to get through this together!”
Legend also joked that, as the show would take place in his own home, he and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, might just perform without pants.
Sorry, they didn’t, and if they did, we can’t tell:
Country singer Keith Urban also got involved and gave a captivating performance from his warehouse. Urban was meant to play in Houston, Texas, but the show was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Nicole Kidman, married to Urban, was there too as an “audience of one”:
Pink also rose to the occasion with something a little different. The pop star has been practising her piano and decided to share her progress on social media.
Yep, everyone is doing what they can to make this whole situation a little more palatable.
We salute you!
