A fight in Kempton Park, in Gauteng, quickly spiralled out of control, despite SAPS intervention on Monday.
A police officer spotted two men trading blows on the corner of Long and Casuarina Street just before 7PM.
SAPS intervened by separating the two men, but they were determined to continue the altercation.
That’s when things went south.
News24 reports:
The suspect approached the victim, pushed him and picked up a brick. He then threw it at the victim, who was hit on the forehead.
The victim then collapsed and bled from the mouth and nose, according to police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele.
The whole thing was caught on video. Be warned – the following clip is violent and shocking:

The strangest thing about that clip is the lack of intervention from the police just before the brick is thrown. When asked about this, Makhubele said that “the circumstances surrounding the incident would be investigated”.
The man who threw the brick was arrested for attempted murder, while the victim was rushed to Arwyp Hospital, where he later died.
The charges were then changed to ‘murder’.
The suspect appeared at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court, yesterday.
I reckon this is going to be a very short court case.
