Perhaps the best Christmas present that the Duchess of Sussex received this year was Prince Andrew.
When it comes to distracting the press, a predator with a dodgy history that he shares with a known sex offender is the gift that keeps on giving.
To catch up on that scandal, go here, here and here.
Before the Prince Andrew stories dominated the headlines, the Royal Family was dealing with the comparatively minor issue of where Harry and Meghan were going to spend Christmas.
The only person who was visibly upset about the possibility that they might spend Christmas in America was Piers Morgan, who took to his computer keyboard, again, to talk about that time Meghan ghosted him.
He needs to calm down.
In the end, Meghan and Harry decided to spend Christmas with Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mom, but that’s not all the Duchess has planned for the holidays.
Here’s The Telegraph,
The Duchess of Sussex is using her six-week sabbatical from her duties to plot the US launch of the Sussex Royal Foundation alongside her former Hollywood PR, it has emerged.
She is said to be in “work mode” and determined that the foundation, which will be launched in the New Year, will be one of the biggest and most successful philanthropic organisations in the world.
The Duchess is hoping to capitalise on Los Angeles connections forged during her former show business career to harness a massive fundraising drive.
Sources say that she has already met with Keleigh Thomas Morgan, her former publicist and a partner at celebrity PR firm Sunshine Sachs, in recent weeks whilst in the US with Prince Harry, their son Archie, and her mother.
So, while they should be taking a break, the royal couple is working towards trying to make the world a better place. Lovely.
The PR consultants, who have reportedly worked with Harvey Weinstein and the Michael Jackson estate, will be involved in the US launch of Travelyst next year, which will also fall under the Sussex Royal umbrella.
The Foundation was established was set up after the couple broke away from the Royal Foundation, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s charitable vehicle established by Prince William and Prince Harry in 2009.
Noble, but I’m sure they don’t want Harvey Weinstein’s name bandied about too much. It’s not a good look.
Meanwhile, Tom Bradby, the guy who directed that documentary about Meghan and Harry, has said that he “tried to educate the Duchess about Britain’s complex relationship with its royals”.
“I remember trying to explain it to Meghan a long time ago. It was one of the first times I met her. I was like: ‘Good luck with that one.”
“You’re trying to explain the way, for so many people, our view of our country and who we are is to some extent tied up with the people on the balcony.”
From the outside, it does look a little odd.
I guess the Royal Family can thank some very successful PR over the years for saving them from a revolution.
