Virginia Giuffre (formerly Virginia Roberts Giuffre), who claims that she was forced into having sex with Prince Andrew when she was just 17, isn’t backing down.
She has that now-infamous photo to back up her story, although Prince Andrew’s supporters have spun all kinds of theories to try and discredit it as a fake.
The Duke of York himself claims he has no recollection of the photo being taken, but during that recent trainwreck of an interview, said it couldn’t have been him because he remembers eating at a Pizza Express in Woking that day.
OK, pal.
The fallout to that interview has been swift, with the Queen forcing Andrew to quit his royal duties, and cancelling his big 60th birthday bash.
What’s abundantly clear is that even those closest to Andrew have lost faith in him, and interviews like the one Giuffre has done with BBC Panorama will do nothing to ease that pressure.
This from the Telegraph:
Mrs Giuffre has previously claimed she was trafficked to the UK to meet the Duke in 2001 by sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In the clip she describes the period as a “really scary time” for her.
The programme, called The Prince and the Epstein Scandal, will air on BBC1 on Monday at 9pm.
So far, they have only released this clip:
“He knows what happened, I know what happened and there’s only one of us telling the truth.”

I’m sure Andrew will have a restless weekend waiting for that one to air, and the hits just keep on coming.
Remember that time he ‘smuggled’ in an ‘unvetted’, South African-born female masseuse to his Buckingham Palace bedroom? The Daily Mail does:
Monique Giannelloni says she wasn’t searched and didn’t sign in during her palace visit to see the Duke after being introduced to him by Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged ‘fixer’, Ghislaine Maxwell…
She doesn’t believe any background checks were done on her after a telephone booking made by the Duke’s then-Assistant Private Secretary, Charlotte Manley…
‘I didn’t know Andrew and never met anyone from the royal household. Nobody knew me. I wasn’t spoken to by a Royal Protection officer or asked any questions at all.’
…After one appointment, Ms Maxwell, who is accused of procuring young girls for paedophile Epstein, told her: ‘I am going to introduce you to someone more famous than God.’
That man was Prince Andrew, which gives you some sense of how much impunity these people operated with.
Giannelloni is now a 55-year-old married mother of two and says she looks back on those days with a sense of incredulity.
Here’s one standout passage:
Monique said she was greeted at the bedroom door by Andrew wearing a bathrobe and gave him a massage naked under a towel on a table beside a photo of his former wife Sarah Ferguson and their two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
You can read the rest of her account here.
Between Giannelloni and Jeffrey Epstein’s former personal masseuse, Chauntae Davies, I’m sure there are still many horrific tales that will never see the light of day.
