Dan Aykroyd recently announced the release of the third installment in the Ghostbusters series. But, without a definite yes from Bill Murray, how could it ever be the same? As far as the storyline goes he has dropped a few hints, with one of them being the assembly of a new, younger team, under the supervision of the overweight, handicapped old one.
I’ll be quite reluctant to watch it if Bill doesn’t come round. His character, Peter Venkman was a legend!
Dan, who co-wrote the previous film with Harold Ramis, gave a sneak peak:
My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can’t drive the cadillac. He’s got a bad knee and can’t carry the packs… Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that’s the promise. We’re gonna hand it to a new generation.
As far as casting goes, Dan has his eye on Matthew Gray Gubler, from the cast of criminal minds. He also pointed out that there will be a casting, as they are interested to see the talent out there.
Slimer had better be in the movie, or I’m boycotting it.
