Now that Nicholas Ninow’s trial is over, he’s been convicted of rape, and sentenced to life, the media is turning to his family members in an attempt to gain some insight into how he could have committed such an appalling crime.
We listened to his granny talk about his ‘manic drug behaviour’, and we heard Ninow himself talk about how he first did drugs with his mom, Chantelle.
She has now said her piece in an interview with the SABC, which has not been well received.
You can see a snippet of that here. You’ll notice that they’ve spelt her name differently, but most sources use ‘Chantelle’.
Who thought this was a good idea?
And for the record, he is a rapist. He is a convicted rapist.
According to the Citizen, the backlash has been swift on social media. Many have directied their anger towards Chantelle’s interviewer, Chriselda Lewis.

In fairness to Chriselda Lewis, the interview might not have been her idea.
Still, SABC, not your best work.
