Do environmentally conscious teenagers make you irrationally angry?
Have you spent far too much time this week in the comments sections of news articles writing all-caps rants about Greta Thunberg’s UN speech?
You aren’t alone. The teenage activist from Sweden has hit a nerve with a lot of people who should really know better – like Trump.
Those people (mostly older and mostly male) dealt with their feelings in the usual way – with memes, Twitter rants, and comments to the press.
So much so that their actions inspired a viral video titled “The Greta Thunberg Helpline” for angry adults.
It’s amazing:
According to Forbes, one of the angry men who need this helpline is Europe’s richest man, Bernard Arnault, who criticised Thunberg for “surrendering to catastrophism”.
Sorry, honey, but unfortunately the science doesn’t lie. We are screwed if we don’t take action now, and no amount of money is going to save you.
Thunberg has taken it all in her stride, and The Evening Standard reports that she’s even endorsed the helpline in the video above.
She sarcastically wrote on Twitter alongside the video: “Hang in there! Help is available.”
It comes a day after Ms Thunberg posted a series of tweets blasting adults who “spend their time mocking and threatening teenagers and children for promoting science”.
Thunberg for president. Also, please enjoy these Thunberg vs Trump memes:
Happy Friday, and don’t forget to drop off your recycling.
