You’d be hard-pressed to find a Capetonian who doesn’t love a good food and booze pairing, which is why we’re happy to announce that there are three excellent events coming up in the next two weeks.
Two of them will be taking place at The Crown restaurant in honour of their new “Build-a-Platter Menu”.
To make sure that you get the best out their designer platter, they’ve teamed up with Cape Town Gin and Fitch & Leedes.
Three excellent gins from the Cape Town Gin range will be perfectly paired with three Fitch & Leedes mixers to create a mini cocktail which you’ll enjoy with a designer platter for one, two, or four guests.
The Classic Dry gin will be paired with the blueberry flavoured Fitch & Leedes Blue Tonic (Instagram picture that racks up the likes – sorted).
You can also enjoy a Rooibos Red gin with Fitch & Leedes Spicy Ginger Beer, and The Pink Lady (best enjoyed with tonic or soda water or in a cocktail) which will be paired with Fitch & Leedes Pink Tonic.
Double pink – now you’re living.
By now you should already know that Fitch & Leedes is the perfect mixer for any quality gin, so let’s get a look at that platter menu:
You had me at “chunky homemade cheddar cheese straws”.
OK, that’s a lie – you had me at “gin cocktail”.

If you’re looking for something with a little more dancing, Fitch & Leedes are continuing their series of fun, food and drinks pairings in partnership with Sotano.
This time around they’re inviting you to Colombian Night, which is guaranteed to transport you straight to Colombia and Latino America.
The Cachaça da Tulha Africa and Fitch & Leedes dedicated cocktail bar will be serving up caipirinhas, mojitos and other delicious South American cocktails to keep you moving to Latin music from DJ Jero, DJ Thabo and live surprise acts – Salsa, Merengue, Vallenato, Cumbia, Reggaeton and more.
Colombian Night happens on the last Saturday of every month. R50 gets you in from 9:30PM, or book a table for dinner and head straight for the dancefloor after that.
The next event will be taking place on Saturday, August 31.
Check out their events page for more details.
That’s your weekend plans sorted for the foreseeable future.
Go forth and be merry.
