It’s halfway through the year and people have been generating a lot of video content. More than that, people have been watching, sharing, and liking a lot of video content.
Mashable keeps track of these things in a world where something goes viral for five minutes and then we move onto the next thing.
That’s why they’ve compiled a list of the best viral videos to do the rounds so far this year, to remind you to take a minute to appreciate things.
These are our six top picks from that list in no particular order.
But first, a tribute to the OG internet sensation, Grumpy Cat. The death of Grumpy Cat:
May she rest in peace.
Moving on to those six…

An hour and 44 minutes of dancing Pikachu:
Some background on the above.
Before the release of Detective Pikachu, Ryan Reynolds tweeted about a supposed leak of the film which appeared mysteriously on a YouTube account called Inspector Pikachu. What followed was their marketing team’s ultimate troll — a clip of Pikachu dancing (a la the famous Key and Peele aerobics sketch) for the full runtime of the film.
Well played.
Keanu Reeves getting heckled at E3:

Another vid that made the cut, which we covered when it happened, was the online feud between makeup gurus James Charles and Tati Westbrook.
Bet you forgot about that one.
Or you just don’t care.
Maybe you’re more into South African viral content, in which case this video is for you.
Go forth and upload. Maybe you’ll make the list at the end of the year.
