The pilots aboard the Myanmar National Airlines flight UB-103 on Sunday deserve serious praise for their precise skills, with all 89 people on board safely evacuated after an emergency landing at Mandalay International Airport.
Flight UB-103 was approaching the runway when the plane’s alert system told the pilot that the nose landing gear had packed in, and after two fly-bys to see if the alert system was correct, a decision was made to land the plane.
Business Insider with what came next:
The pilot followed emergency procedures, including dumping fuel to reduce landing weight, before touching down on the runway at around 9:00 a.m. local time.
Video shows the plane’s back wheels sending sparks into the air as the aircraft gradually slows to a stop.
When you consider what we saw last week, with 41 people killed in a tragic accident at Moscow Airport, this really is a best-case scenario.
Let’s see the video, then:

Superb work.
It’s been a rough week for air travel in Myanmar, with a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight sliding off the runway at Yangon International Airport on Wednesday.
In that incident, everyone survived, although 19 people were injured.
