The Mark Hotel in Manhattan where Meghan held her baby shower seems to be a popular spot for royalty.
Lady Kitty Spencer – Princess Diana’s niece – was spotted leaving the hotel accompanied by her new boyfriend, South African fashion tycoon Michael Lewis.
The scandal making this pointless piece of info worthy of the Daily Mail is that he’s more than twice her age, which gives the tabloid the opportunity to use phrases like “suave silver fox”.
Let’s pop in there for more:
Even as they left The Mark Hotel in Manhattan on Thursday, the society couple apparently tried to avoid being spotted together by carefully orchestrating their exit.
He came out first and waited on the sidewalk; only when their cab arrived did she emerge to join him, and the pair were whisked away.
You can see the two images of Lewis and Kitty leaving the Mark Hotel here.
Lady Kitty has apparently been dubbed “the naughty niece” due to her regular appearances on the London party circuit which she documents on Instagram.
Lady Kitty’s new beau, Mr Lewis, is six years older than her father, Earl Spencer. An onlooker in New York told The Mail on Sunday: ‘As they left, Michael was lingering by the front door, with Kitty inside.
‘Once Michael spotted their Uber, Kitty came out. Both kept their heads down and walked quickly to the car.’
Rich people use Uber, too. They’re just like us!

Right, back to that hotel sighting…
The Mark is now one of the most fashionable hotels in the world.
Its penthouse costs £50,000 a night, making it the most expensive in the US.
But money is almost no object for South African-born Mr Lewis [below], who is worth £80 million.
The divorced father of three children – all in their 30s – owns a £19 million Central London mansion where Lady Kitty has also been spotted.
Lewis is a director of the South African retailer Foschini Ltd, and also the founder of the Israeli biotech company ProChon Biotech Limited.
According to Powerbase, he’s the son of Stanley and Zea Lewis. His paternal grandfather, Meyer Lewis, established a furniture company in Cape Town in 1934, which was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 1946.
For several decades Michael Lewis’s late father, Stanley Lewis, controlled the South African clothing retailer Foschini and the Israeli travel company Paltours.
Today the Lewis family’s substantial wealth, which is held via trusts and offshore companies, is managed by Michael Lewis and his business associate David Sable, a fellow South African.
And that’s everything we know.
May Kitty and the “suave silver fox” find happiness.
