In September last year, we told you about Vespa’s first electric scooter, which at the time was not making its way to South Africa any time soon.
This was sad news considering the price of petrol then and now – just the R1,31 increase per litre as of midnight tonight.
Well, the wait is over, because the Vespa Elettrica is finally here and coming to a Vespa dealer near you.
The scooter can reach up to 50k/ph and has a ton of other cool features, like AI functions that detect pedestrians and vehicles.
It also has alternative route planning that lets you know when traffic is bad.

The launch of the Vespa Elettrica will be happening in Jozi and Cape Town later this month:
In Jozi, you can join Vespa as they ride to meet the new Vespa Elettrica from the Melrose Arch Showroom. Meet there at 7:30AM, to leave at 8AM for the Zwartkops Raceway’s Extreme Festival, where you can test the new Vespa.
