All hail #eggboy, who deserves to be honoured after dishing out some egg justice to a truly terrible human being.

In case you don’t know who Fraser Anning is, he’s a far-right Australian senator who blamed Muslim immigrants for the attack in Christchurch.

He actually went as far as to put out an official statement, which is stupefying in both its bigotry and its idiocy.

This man is an elected government official in Australia, and that is truly terrifying:

You’ll find the same kind of garbage on his Twitter account, although his most offensive tweets were removed by the platform.

This man deserves far worse than an egg to the head, but that’s what 17-year-old Will Connolly delivered, whilst Anning spoke at an event on Saturday night.

A bunch of grown men throttling him, but he’s the weak human being? OK, then.

In the wake of the incident, Connolly, or #eggboy as the world knows him, has blown up in a big way.

[He] has already had his face plastered on T-shirts being sold across the world and a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for his legal fees.

Musicians have offered the teen free lifetime tickets to any of their shows. His notoriety has spread so wide that Egg Boy could turn up anywhere and be given VIP treatment.

Wheatus labelled him “Hero of The Earth” and fans suggested the band re-records Teenage Dirtbag as Teenage Eggboy…

The GoFundMe page “Money for EggBoi” has already raised more than $42,000, well past its $2000 goal when it was created a day ago with more than 2100 people donating.

The teenager was briefly arrested but later released without being charged, according to Victoria police. They added that “the incident is being actively investigated by Victoria Police ‘in its entirety’ including the actions of [Anning] and others”.

With Anning coming under increased scrutiny in the wake of the viral incident, a petition was started, and quickly gained some serious numbers.

The “Remove Fraser Anning from Parliament” petition on Change.org has racked up over 1.14 million signatures as of mid-morning on Monday. The petition has an updated goal of 1.5 million signatures.

“Senator Fraser Anning’s views have no place in the government of our democratic and multicultural country,” Kate Ahmad, who started the petition, wrote on the page. “Within the bounds of Australian law, we request that he be pushed to resign from his position as Senator, and if appropriate, be investigated by law enforcement agencies for supporting right wing terrorism.”

As you can see from that screenshot above, the petition has, at the time of writing, ticked over 1,2 million signatures.
