If Tucker Carlson worked for any network other than Fox News, he’d more than likely be out of a job right now.
Over the past week or so, a number of audio clips have emerged from Tucker’s interviews with a radio shock jock called Bubba the Love Sponge.
There’s your first warning sign, but the pair are long-time friends, and now audio clips recorded between 2006 and 2011 are shedding new light on how tight that bond is.
Non-profit group Media Matters have released the clips, featuring some less than savoury comments from Tucker, which are surprising even with the terribly low bar set by his show on Fox News.
You’ll hear just some of those nuggets in this video below from Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, with what the Daily Beast calls “the best late-night takedown of the beleaguered Fox News host to date”.
She doesn’t hold back, and I particularly like the mockery of Tucker’s ‘huh’ face, which he brings out whenever a guest challenges him on anything.
That doesn’t happen all too often in his echo chamber, but let’s just let Samantha do her thing:
Tucker will keep banging that drum, as long as Fox News keeps employing him. After all, he’s just giving the viewers what they want.
I imagine that even if he was fired, he’d find a job in the White House pretty quickly.
