The past few years have seen some truly awful attempts at honouring footballers with statues, with the Mo Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo efforts the most high profile.

Given the epic fails of statues past, David Beckham was probably a touch worried that the LA Galaxy’s recent honouring would come up short of the mark.

Their statue was actually pretty spot on, but that didn’t stop James Corden from nipping in to prank his pal Becks.

Seriously, they go way back.

If you’ve ever wondered what David would look like with a huge arse, Jay Leno-esque chin and squint eyes, you’re in luck.

I would say it’s worth watching the whole build-up, where actors do their best to annoy Becks and a dodgy highlights reel is played. If you’re just after the big unveiling, skip ahead to the five-minute mark:
