Social Media Star’s Video With African Penguin At Boulders Doesn’t Go To Plan

American social media superstar Kelvin Peña tried to make friends with a penguin in Cape Town, but the penguin wasn't having it.

In case you somehow didn’t know, it’s possible to now make a ton of money creating video content on the internet.

Ask American social media superstar Kelvin Peña, who has more than 4,5 million followers across Twitter and Instagram.

According to Business Insider, Peña, who goes by Brother Nature on social media, grew to fame by posting short clips with animals he encounters.

So naturally, when he visited Cape Town, he went in search of some of our local beasts, and got more than he bargained for.

But first, let’s start with his encounter with a Cape Fur Seal:

Okay – just a quick word of warning to anyone who watches this and then saunters off to the Waterfront to try and pet or feed a seal: DON’T DO IT.

They do bite, and you shouldn’t be feeding them, anyway.

Speaking of biting, Brother Nature has never been bitten by an animal that he yells at on video. Until now.

In a clip posted to his Instagram and Twitter accounts on Saturday, Peña visited the Boulders Penguin Colony in Simon’s Town, where he spotted a penguin whom he named “Jermaine”.

That’s what you get.

If the link above is being tricky, here’s the clip again:

That penguin is hardcore.

The video has been retweeted over 84 000 times and has over 400 000 likes on Twitter at the time of writing.

I’ll give Peña this, though. He followed up his penguin video with a request that his followers donate to the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) to ensure the species’ survival.

Do it. “Jermaine” deserves a reward.

Kelvin, I give it a matter of days until PETA is in touch.
