Meghan’s due date is creeping closer and closer, which means that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are getting ready for some big changes.
If reports are to be believed, Meghan just had her super lowkey baby shower in New York earlier this week. I wonder if everyone brought nappies and got hammered?
Harry, of course, is married and about to become a father – something that royal experts claim he never saw coming.
In fact, Royal biographer Katie Nicholls says the 34-year-old was “lonely” before meeting Meghan Markle, and thought that he would be doomed to spend the rest of his life alone.
Here’s NewsAU:
Nicolls revealed Harry’s inner turmoil in her 2017 biography Harry: Life, Loss and Love.
She claims the dad-to-be feared he’d be “left on the shelf” and dreaded Sunday nights home alone.
After Prince William and Kate Middleton moved to Norfolk in 2014, Prince Harry became increasingly lonely and worried for his own future, Nicholls said.
She wrote: “Harry felt detached, lonely, and ‘rudderless’, and according to a friend he dreaded Sunday nights.
“He’d say, ‘William’s got so boring’, when in fact William was living the life I think Harry wanted for himself.
He’s right that William does seem boring, but the man has gone full Dad Mode and settled down. When you rule out any financial pressure at all, because he’s never going to struggle to pay the bills, that doesn’t sound too bad.
Harry apparently felt especially lost after William moved to Anmer Hall in 2014. He was very close with both William and Kate and liked having them nearby.
“He felt he had lost his partners in crime, especially William.
“He was happy that his brother was married and had a family, of course, but he missed their friendship, and at points he was very, very bitter about it.”
Fast forward to 2019, and Harry is about to settle down and start a family with Meghan. The royal couple is due to move into Frogmore Cottage to raise their baby, following a multimillion-dollar eco-friendly revamp, amid rumours of a feud between Kate and Meghan.
Whatever the case, good for Harry.
