The universities are open, school is back in session and, as a result, the morning commute is officially the place where happiness goes to die.
Unless you’re some kind of super-zen higher being, you’ve probably experienced some level of road rage.
There’s a road rage spectrum that ranges from swearing, screaming or flipping the bird from the safety of the driver’s seat, to openly brawling on the side of the road, like this guy in Jozi.
Then there’s the United States, where if things are going to escalate, they’ll be off the charts.
Drivers in Massachusetts were stunned to see a man hanging on for dear life to the hood of an SUV during an alleged road rage incident, reports KSN.
Take a look:
The man clinging to the car is 65-year-old Richard Kamrowski, who says that the driver, 37-year-old Mark Fitzgerald, sideswiped him after the two got into an argument.
Fitzgerald speeds up and slows down for a few kilometres before pulling over. Then, in true American style, another driver intervenes with a gun, forcing Fitzgerald out of the car.
Only in America.
“I just kept telling him ‘stop the car, stop the car’ and he wouldn’t stop,” said Richard Kamrowski. “I thought he was gonna run over me, and I don’t think he stopped, he kept going fast slow, fast slow, trying to get me to slide off, I wasn’t getting off the car.”
Fitzgerald was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, negligent operation, and leaving the scene of a crash causing property damage.
Kamrowski was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Nobody won, but it sure puts that morning commute into perspective.
