Floyd Shivambu

Much like Our Dear Leader, Floyd Shivambu is the kind of prominent political figure that we look up to here at 2oceansVibe. You are no doubt familiar with our policy regarding phone calls. It’s a position that Floyd shares. No matter what the issue, Floyd will flatly refuse to answer his phone. Of course, his position is made trickier in the sense that people want him to speak to them on a regular basis, what with him being the ANCYL spokesperson and all.

Most recently, a journalist had the audacity to call Floyd, right out of the blue, to ask Floyd’s opinion on reports that his revolutionary brother, Julius Malema, had spent roughly R78 000 on a holiday. Floyd swore at the journalist.

Look, we know how a lot of people are going to play this. “Floyd swore at the journalist because his question struck a nerve.”

Wrong, dead wrong. We can see what’s happening here. It’s simply rude that journalists insist on harassing Floyd over the telephone. And the guy had enough. We’re not saying it’s right, but we can understand it.

Especially after enjoying a holiday.
