Believe it or not, the Satanic Temple doesn’t have a great reputation across the pond in America.
They’re not actual Satan worshippers, though, but political activists who are somewhat tired of the increasing influence of the religious right in American politics.
Leading the charge is Lucien Greaves (you might remember him from his stinging rebuke of that murder back in October), and VICE decided to meet up with him during a pretty tumultuous time:
VICE’s Charlet Duboc travels to Little Rock Arkansas to meet with Lucien Greaves and the members of the Satanic Temple to find out why they’re trying to install a statue of Baphomet in protest of religious freedom on the Capitol’s lawn.
If you’re associated with the word ‘Satan’ and you head to Arkansas, you’re going to be unpopular. Then again, I reckon Lucien is pretty used to that.
Let’s see a showdown in action:
Say what you want about them, but at least the Satanic Temple isn’t trying to impose their way of life on remote tribes who want nothing to do with modern civilisation.
