Mondays are a bummer at the best of times, but if you woke up wondering how the Springboks managed to let a 30-13 lead slip, you’re not alone.
Factor in that us long-suffering Newcastle fans watched a 2-0 lead against Manchester United become a 3-2 defeat in a matter of 20 minutes, and you have a recipe for a case of the Monday blues.
Then again, the fact that the Boks managed to outclass the All Blacks for 70-odd minutes, after a historic win in their own backyard a few weeks back, points to an improvement few of us thought possible.
I’m not going to wade into trying to figure out what went wrong at the end of the clash in Pretoria (or Manchester), because our focus here is on a rather interesting photobomb during the Boks’ pre-match photo.

We can see there are two men, but that guy in the front is clearly taking the limelight. Observe:
Is he doing some kind of ‘Island Style’ hand signal? You know the one:
We want to know more – does anybody have info to shed some light on who the ‘Lounger Guy’ is? Maybe it’s the Bok Boks guy, who is keen for his second 15 minutes of fame?
If you have any info send it our way – editor@2oceansvibe.com – and let’s uncover the great mystery that is the ‘Lounger Guy’.
Hey, it’s more fun than focusing on how we let a 17-point lead slip, right?
Thanks, Ant
