Last week was another example of just how divided America has become across party lines.
It all centres around Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his nomination to the US Supreme Court by Donald Trump.
Before that appointment could get rammed through the Senate, three separate women came forward with allegations of sexual assault.
One of those women, Dr Christine Blasey Ford, gave her version of events at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday, and for many women, it dug up painful memories.
Then the man she accused, Brett Kavanaugh, was given his opportunity to speak, and straight out the starting block he launched an impassioned defence of his past behaviour.
If I had to sum it up, it went like this – I love beer, and I was just a silly high schooler. I don’t wish to revisit that, but if you watched his ‘permanently on the cusp of shouting and crying’ display, you’ll enjoy Matt Damon’s efforts on Saturday Night Live.
Opening the show’s 44th season, Damon crushed it:
You can just give him the Emmy now #SNL pic.twitter.com/g1QL0gQHBh

Whilst Matt Damon is getting rave reviews, the same cannot be said of Kanye West.
Or ‘Ye’, as he now wants to be known. No jokes:
Can we call you ‘nay’?
During Ye’s appearance on SNL, he wore a MAGA hat, and went off on a bizarre rant towards the end of his live performance, which was cut from the show due to time constraints.
Chris Rock was filming, though, and he was left in disbelief. Listen closely at around 40 seconds:
Wowwwww only 3 people clapped. Chris Rock is laughing At @kanyewest pic.twitter.com/jAGP5OwKXD

There was one moment of honesty – when an audience member yelled, “I love you, Kanye,” he responded, “I love me, too!”
He really is a terrible, self-obsessed imbecile.
Just ask Chris Evans, who played ‘Captain America’, and had a pop at another of Kanye’s pro-Trump tweets:
It does take some doing, but between Kanye and Kim K, he is clearly the biggest ass.
