There’s always someone who wants to spoil everyone’s fun. So it came as no shock when some self-righteous old biddies got it in their heads to go to the BCCSA because they believe the Naked News to be porn.

Thankfully the BCCSA would have none of it. The tribunal had to decide whether the show contravened the Broadcasting Code. They said that the complaint could not be upheld because the nudity was neither indecent nor obscene. In it’s ruling the BCCSA said:

The mere fact that the nudity makes no contribution to a better society is irrelevant in law. It is part of the freedom of choice of adults whether they wish to watch the Naked News or not.

The complainants claimed that the show was tantamount to soft-core porn and was “really disgusting”. The only thing I find really disgusting is the ridiculous tirade of ads during the show, offering porn services to your mobile. These morons are cool with that, but not the show.

Nevertheless, here’s one more for media freedom and a victory for me and the nerdy girl.
