Donald Trump really is a lying coward.
On Monday, he stood next to Vladimir Putin and denied, against the findings of every American intelligence agency, that Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election.
Vlad didn’t even have to try and outwit Donnie, because the orange buffoon’s ego is so fragile that he cannot accept any diminishment to his win.
The backlash was swift, from both Democrats and Republicans, and it was just another shitstorm for his ‘brains trust’ to have to deal with.
So how did they backtrack from the American president choosing to believe Russia over America?
Strap in – it’s all about a double negative little oopsy, you know?
NEW: Pres. Trump says he misspoke at yesterday’s joint presser with Vladimir Putin, meant to say there was no reason “it wouldn’t be Russia” behind election meddling.

Utter cowardice.
He’ll trash talk Macron, Merkel, May, China, and anybody else he feels doesn’t bow before him, but when he’s face to face he can only talk about ‘great relations’ and ‘wonderful friendships’.
Then there’s the fact that Trump waited close to 36 hours to clarify that what he said – words that grabbed headlines around the world and caused an uproar – were actually a slip of the tongue.
Locker room talk, fake news, double negatives – he really is trying to take the world for a po*s.
Here’s another zinger – Trump gave two softball interviews to sycophantic Fox News ‘journos’, and never thought to mention that what he had said was actually the exact opposite of what he meant?
Here’s a good headline:
Oh, and the arsehole couldn’t help but go a little off-script, which is where his about-face loses further credibility.
Over to the Daily Beast:
Those remarks also do not appear to contain a qualifier that Trump added after his public concession that Russia did, in fact, seek to sway the 2016 election. “It could be other people also. There’s a lot of people out there,” Trump said, in an apparent departure from the prepared version of his comments.
And it was a departure made by a man caught between the demands of the self-inflicted public-relations catastrophe of the moment and his instinct never to back down and never to give the adversarial press and his political enemies a scalp…
“[He’s] going to hate this,” a West Wing official bluntly assessed Tuesday afternoon, predicting yet more fuming and rage-tweeting over this in the coming days, if not hours.
Sure enough, at 8:21 p.m. ET, Trump tweeted, “The meeting between President Putin and myself was a great success, except in the Fake News Media!”
America’s Man-Baby in chief at it again.
This gem from CNN:
…when the President was presented with a typewritten script to read before reporters on Tuesday, he made some of his own additions: Scrawled in black marker were the words “THERE WAS NO COLUSION” — with the final word missing an L.
He knows all the best words, but he just can’t spell them properly.
Stephen Colbert – also not buying it:
