Move over, Ford Kugas – it’s all about Audi now.
That’s exactly what this unlucky motorist wants to prove, after his car caught on fire.
Themba Mabasa from Cape Town is out to get justice from Audi South Africa, after claiming he was almost killed when his Audi TT caught fire on Good Friday back in April, an article in The Citizen explains.
He was on his way to Limpopo when he pulled over after he smelled something dodgy. That’s when the car locked him out completely and did this:
Purchased brand new,in just 2yrs this vehicle has been to @audisouthafrica @AudiOfficial for the following:
1. Repair/re-wiring/replacement of entertainment system=8times
2. Overheating=2 times
3. Failure to detect key while driving= 7times
4. Spoiler & oil consumption=3times pic.twitter.com/jKCIl5ExYx— E M P E R O R TEECEE (@TCMabasa) June 6, 2018
Needless to say, Mabasa has been seeking justice ever since:
[Mabasa] claims the car was riddled with defects since two months after he purchased it in 2015.
He alleges his Audi TT had serious mechanical problems and had been in and out of the dealership for repairs several times.
Mabasa has been hitting up Audi South Africa on Twitter, trying to draw their attention to the fact that their cars might not reliable as we think:
Hell, he even made a movie trailer to get his grievances across:
I escaped this life threatening situation after 2.5 years of brazen denial by @audisouthafrica that this car had serious manufacturer’s defects
This car locked all the doors & windows before it ignited into flames. @AudiOfficial in this thread I offload SA division dirty laundry pic.twitter.com/e5UbCHY9tC— E M P E R O R TEECEE (@TCMabasa) June 6, 2018
Did you think Audi South Africa would give him a fair shake for his efforts?
That’s a huge no:
I don’t think that was very clever, Audi.
Will Mabasa ever get the justice he deserves? From the way he’s carrying on across social media, we give him a 50/50 chance of getting it.
Ball’s in your court now, Audi.
