It’s taken a full month to get to this point, but we’re finally about to hear what SuperSport found out from an independent review into the Ashwin Willemse / Nick Mallett / Naas Botha incident.

May 19 seems like a lifetime ago, but you can bet that whatever happens next will lead to much bickering and name-calling online.

Some doos has already commented on our Facebook page calling Ashwin “an average kwota player”, which is odd considering that he was named SA Rugby’s Player of the Year, Most Promising Player of the Year, and Players’ Player of the Year in 2003.

I feel like fact-checking isn’t said doos‘ strong point.

One thing we do know about today’s announcement – the review won’t include evidence from Ashwin himself, for reasons not known at the time of writing.
