So Joshua Kaufman had his MacBook stolen in March. Which sucks – he reported the crime to the police, but they couldn’t help, due to lack of resources. Except Kaufman has the Hidden app on his MacBook, which lets him remotely stalk and photograph the thief – and put them online. Thanks, Internet.

It’s honestly a little creepy; Hidden gives users access to everything the Macbook does, remotely, so Kaufman could use the Photobooth webcam to secretly photograph the (frequently shirtless) thief, and read any emails that were coming in. Which, alright, is fair enough given that the dude had stolen his stuff, but still.

Update: (May 31, 8:37 PM PST) ARRESTED! An Oakland police officer just called me to let me know that they arrested the guy in my photos! BOOYA! The police used my evidence (email which pointed to a cab service) that he was a driver and tricked him into picking them up. Nice work OPD!
