Looks like our boy Mark Shuttleworth made a pretty amount of pennies last year.
According to MyBroadband, the entrepreneur and one-time astronaut’s wealth increased by R5,6 billion in 2017.
The BBC had released a report based on the UK’s Sunday Times Rich List for 2018, which states that Shuttleworth – ranking at number six – is now worth a staggering R8,3 billion.
WOW. What’s his secret?
This is due to the success of Canonical, his company which offers open-source software solutions and allows televisions, cars and other devices to connect to the web. His clientele also happens to include just some of the biggest names in the tech and business industries:
Netflix, Tesla, and Deutsche Telekom are among 800 clients of the London-based operation.
Whoa. I can only imagine who the other 797 clients are.
Shuttleworth ended off the past year with plenty of spare change in his pocket, so fair to play him.
Bravo, Shuttleworth, and keep waving the South African flag high into 2018!
