This past weekend, Austin was the place to be.
Host of SXSW [South by Southwest], every year the capital of Texas welcomes music, tech and film enthusiasts from all over the world, and this time was no different.
Except, well, that Ashton Kutcher held one of the most exclusive and lavish parties, reports Business Insider.
Located inside Geraldine’s, the fourth-floor bar and restaurant of the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt, the party was thrown by Sound Ventures, a tech-investment firm founded by Kutcher and talent manager Guy Oseary.
And, with that, everyone from Hollywood to Silicon Valley (including a few hangers-on) came together on Saturday night.
Here’s a look at what went down:
Guests had to arrive at the hotel at a certain time to receive this not-so-special looking wristband:
Definitely seen better.
At around 10PM, the dancefloor was looking extremely empty – but there was a cowboy hat-wearing DJ, so at least that was something:
SOUND))) is the logo of Kutcher’s tech-investment firm, FYI.
On the roof, the pool cabanas had been transformed into amenity stations, and included a self-serve s’mores bar and Sugarfina booth:
Sugarfina is known for its sweet treats inspired by and infused with different cocktails and wine. However, they don’t get you drunk. Boo.
For the music part of the evening, following the cowboy hat-wearing DJ was St Vincent, also known as Annie Clark, who performed a solo act:
What a babe.
Next up was none other than Snoop Dogg, who replaced the cowboy hat-wearing bloke as the preferred DJ of the night:
Smoking weed, Snoop played a mix of rap, country, and pop – and even Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’. But what else would you expect?
Of course, there was an open bar. Cheers to that:
In attendance was, among others, Salesforce’s Marc Benioff (peace sign), and co-founder Oseary next to Tesla CEO Elon Musk (who sat in the VIP seating all night):
Only at SXSW – see you there next year?
