It’s been a horrific week for the friends and family of Gill Packham, the Springfield Convent administrator whose charred remains were found in the boot of her green BMW two weeks ago.
On Monday, friends and family of murder-accused Rob Packham, Gill’s husband, gathered at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court where it was revealed that he had allegedly asked a colleague to lie about an alibi for him.
During the proceedings, there was also mention that Packham’s addiction had tested their marriage, and that he had sent a message to Gill saying he was “thinking he was calling it a day”.
Well, according to Times LIVE, Rob’s addition was sex:
A Constantia man accused of murdering his wife allegedly had an addiction that involved handcuffs and whips.
Die Burger reported on Wednesday that the victim’s friends had submitted statements to police alleging that Packham had received therapy for a sex addiction.
Die Burger reported that prior to her death she had sent WhatsApp messages to friends saying her husband had refused to stop his “nonsense”.
Can you even.
On Tuesday afternoon, with Rob sitting in Pollsmoor, loved ones gathered at Christ Church in Constantia for a memorial service for Gill, reports IOL:
The church was packed to capacity as family members and others mourned and paid tribute to Packham.
At the service her two daughters said their mother had a passion for gardening and belonged to a few gardening clubs and also enjoyed ballet and cycling.
She had a bubbly personality and was well known for her big smile and warm heart, the congregation heard.
Her friends and family commented that she liked her Chardonnay.
Magistrate Goolam Bawa postponed the case to Friday, where I am sure more details into the couple’s relationship will follow.
