The concept of banting is simple: drop the carbs and pack in the “good fats”.
Sounds easy, surely? Well, for those of you who have jumped on the bant-wagon, I am sure you can remember the first time you were pushing the trolley down the aisle recalling all the “10 commandments”.
“Watch out for carbs disguised as proteins,” they warn; “control your dairy,” they advise.
In the end, confused and befuddled, you probably left the store with low hopes and all the carbohydrates. Tsk tsk.
However, even for those of you who have stuck it out, you have most probably run into a similar hurdle on the regular, as not everything is labelled “banting” or “not banting”.
Woolies linseed loaf – can I eat that?
Now you’re left wondering whether or not you’re still following the rules, and you’re pestering that friend who tried banting four years back with some success.
Leave them alone, they fought their battle and have moved on with their lives.
So, who the hell actually knows what’s in and what’s out? Well, Nick Charlie Key does.
