I was wondering where Alewyn, one of my original Caprice waiters, disappeared to. That was before I received this incredibly amazing email from him. It turns out he followed “The way of the vibe,” quit his job and gave “living the holiday” a try. And he seems to be making some headway. In Monaco, no less!
Alewyn Vorster
..made work a sideline and is living the holiday
Check this out:
Hey Seth,
After doing my studies as was expected, i started my office job. I hated every second. I was trapped in this box they call an office doing something I hated.
During my studies I have worked at Caprice as a waiter and then a barman. yes I have been there for 5 years. I have 3 cupboards full of Finger gear, and went to daves wedding. ive got the t-shirt (or vest).
During my office days, i surfed your blog everyday, just to bring me closer to the beach, i was based in belville (oh the pain).
after reading your blog everyday I thaught, ok , lets do it, lets live the holiday, and put work aside.I quit my property finance job (no I was not retrenched, I actually gave it up) and set off to the south of france to live the holiday. I parked my new audi A4. and took the money I had.
Monaco – that’s where our boy is
Good start!
Life as a yachty seems the only thing that would support this life style, so here i am. In Antibes (next to Monaco). I have started my own blog, defying the droans who are scared of the recession and taken on an industry that I have no clue of.
I know you are coming to South of france in June, so if i am still alive (i have only eaten oats so easy for a week now) lets combine blogs or something, i dont know, something. if you think its a crap idea, let me know www.unemploid.blogspot.com
Laters,
Alewyn
Alewyn, you beauty! Well done bud.
Will definitely look you up and, in the meantime I urge the 2oceansvibe community to check out his blog entitled the Wall Street Business Report! It all started with this first post, where he mentions “Work is a sideline, live the holiday.”
Keep living the dream and thanks for showing the gang that it really can be done.
Just don’t stop… make a plan… always.
