This Weinstein thing is getting out of control.
At least there is something of a silver lining, though.
Charmed actress Rose McGowan, one of at least eight women who had reached settlements with Weinstein over sexual harassment allegations, is now on a mission to call out powerful men in Hollywood who she says knew about Harvey Weinstein’s serial harassment of women in the industry, reports HuffPost.
According to the damning New York Times piece published this past weekend, McGowan received a $100 000 (R1,4 million) settlement from Weinstein in 1997 after “an episode in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival.”
McGowan’s latest attack focused on Ben Affleck, just hours after the actor released a statement condemning Weinstein:
Hitting back, McGowan called Affleck a “liar”, suggesting the actor has been well aware of Weinstein’s sexual misconduct for quite a very long time:
McGowan’s mission began on Monday when she first tweeted at Affleck’s bro, Matt Damon:
But on the other side of fence are those who seem to be Weinstein supporters, the latest of which is none other than the cray-cray Lindsay Lohan.
Taking Weinstein’s side via Snapchat, Lohan and her whack accent had a stern message for the film producer’s wife, fashion designer Georgina Chapman:
