Things Went Completely Pear-Shaped in Uganda’s Parliament On Tuesday [Video]

Things reached boiling point over in Uganda earlier this week, with Parliament descending into chaos. I feel like we've seen this somewhere before.

We’re not exactly in a position to judge, given that our National Assembly is known to border on the absurd, but Tuesday saw Ugandan MPs involved in a pretty nasty incident.

Parliament was debating the presidential age limit, with many arguing that the move is an effort by President Yoweri Museveni, who is 73 and thus ineligible to run for re-election in 2021, to extend his rule.

That didn’t sit well with opposition MPs, and it was claimed that State Minister of Water Resources Hon. Ronald Kibuule brought a gun with to proceedings.

Three, two, one – fight:

Chairs or hard hats? At least I didn’t hear anyone shouting ‘Honourable Member’.
