For those of you who have gained a degree through UNISA and the likes, you understand the sacrifices that come with studying via an open distance education institution.
During a recent UNISA graduation ceremony, Julius Malema was once again present, this time receiving his Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in philosophy.
Malema gained his first degree from the university last year March.
In attendance to support him were some members of the EFF – namely deputy president Floyd Shivambu‚ secretary general Godreech Gardee and spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, as well as his family, including Malema’s wife‚ Mantoa‚ his grandmother‚ Sarah Malema‚ and his cousins, reports Times LIVE.
Then:
Unisa principal and vice chancellor Prof Mandla Makhanya made special mention of Malema during his welcoming address at the ceremony‚ at which the university awarded seven doctorates and numerous other degrees and diplomas.
“Let me make special mention of Julius Malema‚ the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters. He is also a member of parliament. He is receiving an honours degree‚” Makhanya said.
Of course, the whole thing was captured on video, including a little interview:
I’m quite enjoying Malema’s public process of gaining his degrees via UNISA. For those that look up to him and the EFF, it’s a good role to be playing – and owning:
Makhanya said if Malema could make it despite his busy schedule as a politician‚ there was no excuse for other students not to work hard to obtain their qualifications.
Damn straight.
