Given what has gone on over in Charlottesville, Virginia, this past weekend, you would be forgiven for thinking you had hopped into a hateful time machine.

It’s tough to know where to start when describing the weekend’s events, but it started with a Friday night rally by those ostensibly protesting the removal of a confederate era statue from the University of Virginia’s campus.

Here’s a mini explanation:

That was really just the beginning of the trouble, though, because Saturday saw it all become one of the nastiest stains on America’s Trump-tarnished image.

Before we get to the video, here are some details from Sky:

Three people have died as mass brawls broke out between white supremacists and anti-fascist protesters at a far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

People threw punches, hurled water bottles and used pepper spray during the violence as riot police were deployed to try to disperse the crowds. At least eight people were hurt.

Among the three dead were two police officers who were the pilot and passenger on a helicopter that crashed near the scene.

The other death was a 32-year-old woman who had been crossing the street when she was struck by a car that hit a group of anti-Nazi campaigners also leaving 26 people injured.

We’ll start with some of the violent clashes between the White Supremacist Nazis (Trump won’t call them what they are but we will) and the counter-protesters and law enforcement:

But there’s violence from both sides, someone at the back cries out. Sure, but one of the sides is made up of white supremacists so there’s no real debate on who to blame.

As mentioned earlier, 32-year-old Heather Heyer was killed by the vehicle.

In case you need further evidence of the depravity of the humans behind this attack, here’s the article alt-right white supremacist site The Daily Stormer wrote after her identity was confirmed as the victim:

The same site constantly sings the praises of Donald Trump, thanking him for his stance on immigration and his efforts to Make America Great Again.

Turns out many who voted for the Donald believe that means making America white again, but he knew that already and so did we.
