This below is part of a video, leaked to YOU Magazine, that is said to be a recording of a phone call between Amor Vittone and Joost van der Westhuizen, from before his death on February 6.

The release of the video has led to a number of public statements from Amor:

Approached for comment, Amor says she believes the “recording has been manipulated to make me look as mean as possible.

“The person or people behind it want to destroy my career, my reputation and my kids. They want to inflict optimal damage. It’s an effort to destroy me. They want me to lose everything I’ve worked and fought for my entire life in an instant.”

“You know what? It isn’t even about destroying me or my career. It was just downright illegal.”

“Amor Exposed” is a two-minute, 15-second long video that begins with dramatic music and footage of an emotional Amor at Joost’s memorial service at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

Across the images are the words, “At his funeral she spoke of love . . .” and cuts to footage of her heart-rending eulogy.

Then more words appear on the screen, “But in reality this is how she spoke to him . . .”

Looks like someone is really out to destroy her.

After initially denying that it was her voice, she changed her tune and requested the full audio recordings be sent to her and her attorney.

…the singer has instead called on the source of the leaked recording to come forward with the ‘unedited version.’

Amor’s lawyer, Sean Hefferman, said “we would like to receive the original taped conversation, unedited, to listen to it before admitting or denying anything.”

…Amor and the Van Der Westhuizen family have been involved in legal battles over the Springbok’s estate after his brother, Pieter,  revealed the existence of a second will. The will, which was not signed by Joost, left Amor with “very little.”  The Van Der Westhuizen family eventually conceded and said they would not be taking the matter further, making Joost’s original will, in which Amor benefitted significantly more, come into effect.

Amor told the publication her lawyer was made aware of the tape after Pieter passed it on. “He alleges someone had sent him the video and he simply wanted to inform Sean of its existence.”

“We invite the owner of the original telephone conversation to present it to us so we can investigate the contents,” Hefferman [said].

Just when it seemed like that will business had been put to bed (HERE), this video pops up and stirs the pot.

The official statement coming from Joost’s family’s spokesperson, Odette Schwegler, is that “they will not comment on the recording [and] they wish Amor well in what must be a difficult time”.

I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see how this one plays out, but I think it’s fair to say that Amor is not ordentlik.
