We’ve all heard politicians labelled wolves in sheep’s clothing, but Silvio Berlusconi has taken things to the next level with his latest stunt.
The former Italian Prime Minister has tried to court some decent PR by saving five lambs from Easter slaughter, in the midst of what those in the know claim is an attempt to revive his political career.
He might be 80 years old, and dirty stinkin’ rich, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a heart of gold – so goes the spin.
This from the Telegraph:
“Do what he’s doing, he has saved five lambs from slaughter for Easter lunch,” the video says as the three-time prime minister is seen feeding a young lamb and caressing others.
The animal rights campaign, which is entitled “At Easter choose life, chose vegetarian”, is being promoted by Mr Berlusconi’s political ally, Michela Vittoria Brambilla. who is also seen beside him in the video.
I’ll save you from watching that video, but this below gives you an idea of what we’re dealing with:
Good times.
Quite the change from those infamous ‘Bunga Bunga’ sex parties he used to host at his mansion – these pictures from another Telegraph story:
This “policewoman” is among the first photographs to emerge from Silvio Berlusconi’s infamous “bunga bunga” parties. The television showgirl Barbara Guerra, 32, is pictured wearing a tight-fitting police uniform, provocatively dangling a pair of handcuffs.
Other pictures show unidentified women about to kiss as well as women in provocative poses. They were all taken in the early hours of the morning at Mr Berlusconi’s home in Arcore near Milan, one of the venues for the parties.
The pictures were discovered on laptops and cameras seized by prosecutors from dozens of female guests as part of their investigation into the Italian prime minister. The photographs form part of the 20,000 page prosecution dossier which details the allegations of abuse of office and under-age prostitution.
Photographs of topless women lounging at Silvio Berlusconi’s holiday villa were published by a Spanish newspaper despite attempts by the Italian prime minister to have them banned. A picture showing two young women dressed only in thongs relaxing in the landscaped garden in Sardinia was among the five images. Mr Berlusconi was also pictured walking in the garden beside another young woman, who was clothed. Another photograph showed a naked man by an outdoor pool. All the guests had their faces obscured and none was identified.
But hey, nothing cradling a few lambs can’t undo, right?
