It’s that time of the year again when rivers are dyed green and pseudo-Irish “descendants” don any and everything green to pay homage to the patron saint of Ireland, St Patrick (affectionately known as Paddy).
And get this: the Christian feast day is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival.
We have told you before about the various celebratory activities other nations get up to – HERE – but if you want to get down and dirty with leprechauns in the Mother City, this Friday you should probably head over to The Taproom in Salt River.
Yup, Devil’s Peak and The Taproom will be giving away a FREE 350ml Devil’s Peak brew or Alpha Craft Lager – but only if you’re wearing your best Irish-ness.
[However, just in case you fear the cultural appropriation label, I am sure a Springbok jersey will suffice.]
The Taproom is one of Cape Town’s finest examples of how a brewery can create an experience that epitomises the very beer it produces.
If you have yet to venture into the skinny triangular-shaped restaurant, I can assure you that it’s the vibe you want when you raise your glasses to the Irish.
