The third and final debate has come and gone, and whilst some might say it wasn’t quite as nasty as the second there were still plenty of fireworks.
Maybe you woke up at 3AM and are currently guzzling coffee to compute the mess you witnessed (me), or maybe you took the rational approach and decided to let someone else suck it up (you, I’m guessing).
Anyway there are a million and one reviews of just how the debate played out, but we’ll get a quick once over from the folks at USA Today:
At the third and final debate in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Trump ticked off a list of grievances: Voter fraud he claims could let millions of ineligible people cast ballots. Charges of sexual misconduct against him that he said were “probably” generated by opponent Hillary Clinton’s campaign. A news media he labelled as corrupt. And the stunning suggestion that he just might not concede the election if he lost.
If there’s one moment that stands out from the rest it’s this below, Trump refusing to say whether he will accept the election results.
That’s despite most of the literate population of America begging to differ, but let’s hear it from the donkey’s mouth:
That bit about The Apprentice is top class, and Hillary’s right when she says it is both funny and troubling.
At least we know what Trevor Noah thinks about all that rigged nonsense HERE.
Here’s Donald blaming Hillary for his pussy-grabbing comments – oh, and Obama gets a mention too of course:
Remember that bit where he said he didn’t apologise to his wife? Umm…
At least get the story straight with your wife, Donald.
One of the night’s most talked about moments was this, Hillary baiting Donald and him grabbing it by the, um, horns:
I like this:
And I feel like this just about sums it up:
A last little summation from USA Today once more:
At this point, winning the White House would require the billionaire businessman and reality TV star to stage the most dramatic political comeback in modern American history. Clinton’s national lead is the largest any candidate has held in decades three weeks before Election Day. But his fierce new message — that journalists and the political establishment are working in collusion against him to rig the election — helps guarantee that his campaign will have a continuing impact even if Clinton prevails.
I’ll just highlight one more exchange, which took place right at the beginning of the debate. It has to do with the candidates’ stance on abortion, and it’s a terrifying look inside the mind of Trump.
Imagine being a woman in America, knowing that this man will make big calls that immediately affect decisions you must make relating to your body?
