In the midst of what is a seminal point in the history of this nation, the #FeesMustFall protests shutting down campuses around the country, Higher Education and Training Minister Blade Nzimande has been largely missing.
His failure to properly engage with students, coupled with his generally arrogant attitude towards the protests, have made him the target of many attacks.
If a leaked nude is to be believed though, there is one student Blade was happy to engage with. The Citizen was the first to report the story, so let’s head there:
…the image was shared on the Facebook profile of a young student reportedly named “Dimpho Kelly”, whom they described as Nzimande’s “Blessee” at Wits university.
…she was disgusted at the minister’s attitude towards the #FeesMustFall movement, and she decided to take the picture out of revenge.
Unfortunately, the image is of low quality and may have been photoshopped or simply be a clever trick using someone who bears more than a passing resemblance to the minister.
Fine, let’s take a look ourselves:
A closer look:
The Ministry has hit out at the claims, with this below from News24:
“It is very clear that it is not Minister Blade Nzimande who is in this image,” said Harold Maloka, Nzimande’s spokesperson.
“The ministry would like to categorically deny and reject this irresponsible and malicious attempt to link the minister to this image. The minister does not have a relationship with a student as alleged and the image is by no means of that of the minister.”
I’m inclined to agree with the Ministry here, because surely even someone as dimwitted as Nzimande wouldn’t be caught in such a position.
