When you hear of a plane being crashed intentionally by a Jordanian national your thoughts may well turn to terrorism, but that doesn’t appear to be the case with the crash that occurred yesterday in Conneticut.

28-year-old Feras M. Freitekh was the student pilot in question, who began to fly the plane erratically with his instructor sat next to him.

It is alleged that the instructor tussled with Feras, before the plane crashed in East Harford’s Main Street.

A federal official told The Courant that the crash appears to have been a case of suicide, and that nothing had been found by Wednesday evening to suggest terrorism…

“Unfortunately, this looks, at this point, like an individual who wanted to end his life and used this event to do it,” the official said.

The instructor is being treated at Bridgeport Hospital’s burn center and is talking with investigators. He was identified by sources as Arian Prevalla. He is the president of the American Flight Academy and managing member of the Hartford Jet Center…

The plane, a Piper PA-34 Seneca, struck a utility pole and wires before becoming engulfed in flames.

Freitekh obtained a private pilot certificate on May 29, 2015, and was licensed to fly a single-engine plane…A cousin told the Courant Freitekh came to the United States to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot. “He was a good person, kind and helpful. He wasn’t religious at all. He was open-minded,” the cousin said.
