A week ago today we asked to you to check how big THIS dog was – and you dutifully did.
Let us now direct your attention to Broc Brown, who at the tender age of 19 already dwarfs the likes of Eben Etzebeth and Lood de Jager.
Brown measures in at a whopping 2,33 metres tall, and he’s only growing taller. That measurement has landed him the world record for tallest teen, and given that he is currently growing at a rate of 15cm per year the sky is the limit.
This below from Stuff:
Brown, who lives in Michigan, has a genetic disorder called Sotos Syndrome, which he was diagnosed with at age 5.
His mother says he was around 157cm tall when he was in Kindergarten.
“It’s a genetic disorder and there’s nothing that can stop him from growing – I don’t know if he will ever stop,” Darci Brown said…
The disorder affects one in every 15,000 people and has left Brown with a range of health problems, including strain on his heart, curvature of the spine and learning difficulties. He was also born with one kidney and is therefore unable to take painkillers…
“I just wish the doctors could do something to help my pain,” said Brown.
There are also financial implications that come with being the world’s tallest teen. All of Brown’s clothes and shoes have to be specially made, as he has size 28 feet. He’s also had a special bed and chair made.
Will he soon become the tallest living man? Given that current record holder Sultan Kosen stands at 2.51m tall, that record may come sooner rather than later.
