This weekend I was chatting to someone I consider both sane and of sound intellect, and they were adamant that ‘ol Trump would make for a better president than Hillary Clinton.
I fail to see how Trump could be a better leader than anyone, bar maybe JZ or Uncle Bob to the north, and incidents like this only reinforce the opinion that he is nothing more than a wealthy fool.
This below is an actual tweet from Donald Trump Jnr’s official account, sanctioned and designed by his father’s campaign, likening human beings to candy treats:
I mean, where do you even begin?
Let’s start with some number crunching with the team at Huffington Post:
A report published last week by the Cato Institute, a conservative-leaning think tank, found that “the chance of an American being murdered in a terrorist attack caused by a refugee is 1 in 3.64 billion per year.” According to the State Department, of the approximately 785,000 refugees who have settled in the U.S. since the Sept. 11 attacks, fewer than 20 have been arrested on terrorist charges.
I’ll do my own maths here then – 20 out of 785 000 is one in every 39 250. If there are three bad Skittles in that refugee bowl, there would be need 117 750 Skittles in total.
What can we take from all that maths above? Trump is an absolute prick. But don’t take my word for it, here’s Twitter:
Then there’s this, which is also worth considering:
Perhaps the most sane response comes from the makers of Skittles themselves:
A spokeswoman for Wrigley [said] that Trump Jnr’s analogy was inappropriate.
“Skittles are candy. Refugees are people. We don’t feel it is an appropriate analogy,” she said.
“We will respectfully refrain from further commentary as anything we say could be misinterpreted as marketing.”
Can you believe that the Orange Menace stands a real, actual chance of becoming the next leader of ‘the free world’? I’ve posted this before, but it’s worth revisiting as a final word on the matter:
