Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I guess the same is true for ‘ugly’.
South Africa just had its first ever Mr Ugly pageant, which took place in Mtubatuba, KwaZulu-Natal. Competition was stiff, the nine entrants competing for the grand prize of R1 000.
Second place R500 – baller.
TimesLive reports:
David Ntshangase decided to hold the pageant in order for those who feel that they are ugly, to go away from the competition feeling that they too are worthy of celebration and recognition.
‘Ugly and fat people are among the most discriminated against people. You always get beautiful people competing and no one gives ugly people a chance to showcase themselves. Every human was crafted with the same hand of creation’, said Ntshangase, who claims that hes not handsome himself and can relate to the entrants.

Nope, I don’t see it either. More pics then…
I guess as long as everyone had a good time, those who entered included, then it’s no harm done.
One thing is for sure, the chaps in Zimbabwe are giving us a run for our money (HERE).
