We’re talking about one of Batman’s toys, that sick Bat-Pod motorbike he rides whilst zooming around Gotham’s streets.

The monstrous two-wheeler — which is expected to fetch as much as £80,000 (R1,6 million) — is of unconventional architecture, requiring it to be piloted with the rider in a prone “Superman” position.

It is steered with arms and shoulders, freeing hands to operate the functional laser sights and non-functional .50-calibre machine guns, 40mm cannons, and grappling-hook launchers. This bike was one of eight that roared through the movies, and suffers a few dings from filming and associated publicity tours.
