Airports make for good people watching – the tears at the departure terminal, the joy at the arrival terminal, the anger at the person in the boarding lounge who hasn’t brought their headphones and is now watching an episode of How I Met Your Mother with the volume blaring.
Spoiler alert – it’s a shit show and we’re all judging you.
Then there is the array of luggage options, some rocking the latest trends and others carting relics from the 1960s. You won’t have seen this new innovation though, and when you do you’ll be suitably impressed.
Start with the video:
Wow.
Then this gushing review from someone over at The Verge:
The Cowarobot makes me feel happy because I like the idea of something never leaving my side and being programmed to never want to leave my side. True love. The suitcase relies on something called a “CO-MOVE System.” I’m very unclear on what this system is. It apparently involves sonars, “a depth sensor CO-EYE” (no idea what that is, either), and cliff detect sensors so it doesn’t bump into things or fall down stairs…
The Cowarobot also comes with a bracelet for the user, so the suitcase always stays within an arm’s length. The details are vague, but do you care? An autonomous suitcase: a man’s $499 [R7 172] best friend.
I’ll admit that the Cowarobot is quite impressive, but does it have the romance, allure and timelessness of Melvill & Moon?
No, of course it doesn’t.
