If you’re anything like me you probably think Pokemon died ages ago, because it’s been years since I heard anyone so much as utter the words.
Well get ready to hear people talking about it once more, because the game ‘Pokemon Go’ has just been released and it’s now completely out of control.
Take this staggering stat as a starting point – in the roughly one week since it became available for download, Pokemon Go has already been installed more times than Tinder has in five years.
That’s according to Gizmodo, who also say that it shouldn’t be long until it overtakes Twitter in terms of the number of devices it is installed on.
Because you’re probably clueless as to what the game actually is here’s a little intro video:

Let’s talk about this robbery then, because it really was only a matter of time until people started using it for nefarious means. Sky once more:
They allegedly used the game to draw victims to a place in O’Fallon [Missouri] before robbing them.
The four were allegedly spotted in a black BMW near a petrol station at about 2am Sunday local time, when police were called to reports of a robbery.
The teens were arrested and police found a handgun…
The alleged robberies confused some police officers in…Missouri, with Sergeant Phil Hardin saying that many had not heard of the new game.
“All of the elements of a robbery were all there, so that part was easy, but the more in-depth discussion that followed was like: ‘What?’
“You really can’t make this stuff up,” he [said].
Youngsters walking around with their eyes glued to their screens is nothing new, but the roaming nature of Pokemon Go means it presents additional dangers:
People have tripped over, fallen in holes and walked into trees while concentrating on the game and police in the Australian city of Darwin have even had to ask players not to enter the station, which has been made a pokestop in the game.
I say let them in and lock them up, but that’s because I have no interest in encountering anyone who plays this game willingly.
